Credits: 2.0 Ethics Credit Hours
Description: Many attorneys are still working from home or other locations away from their offices, a practice that will likely continue for the foreseeable future. This practical and informative class explores the ethics of practicing law in our “new normal” – including remote practice from home, and hybrid practice split between the office and other locations. Our experienced and knowledgeable panel will explain how the ethics rules – including competence, confidentiality, communication, supervision, and diligence – apply to remote practice. They will end with a discussion of the rules prohibiting unauthorized practice of law (UPL), trends in the approach to UPL how the UPL rules apply to work-from-home, and best practices when working remotely.
This class is intended for all attorneys – private, public, and nonprofit – regardless of the size or focus of their practice.
