Description: Our engaging and insightful faculty will help those who attend learn how to navigate the statutory framework of the Americans with Disabilities Act and will provide guidance on advising employers and employees in this complex area. In addition, those who attend will learn about litigating and defending ADA cases, including legal theories of recovery, exhaustion of administrative remedies, proving and defending a case, and remedies. The following are among the topics the faculty will discuss:
- Statutory framework
- Important coverage definitions under the ADA
- Medical examinations/confidentiality
- What a reasonable accommodation/undue hardship is
- Proving or defending an ADA case
- Remedies
- Hot topics in the law
While this class is a must for those who represent employees and employers in ADA matters, others may find the topics of interest as well.
