Original Program Date:
November 19, 2025

Uncertainty is exhausting. Whether you're navigating a government shutdown, facing career disruption, starting something new, or simply trying to keep going through constant change—many lawyers are feeling tapped out.
This program offers a space to step back, acknowledge what’s hard, and explore tools for rebuilding motivation and resilience. We'll talk about how to stay engaged when you're learning new skills, entering new practice areas, or reimagining your professional identity after a long career in government or public service. We’ll also explore what makes this uniquely challenging for lawyers. Drawing on research by Dr. Larry Richard, we’ll look at how common lawyer personality traits—like skepticism, autonomy, and perfectionism—can get in the way of resilience, and what to do about it. You’ll leave with practical strategies for keeping yourself grounded, focused, and connected, even when the future is unclear.
Whether you're transitioning into solo practice, shifting roles, or just trying to regain your footing, this session is designed to support you in the messy middle. Presented by Kaitlin McGee and Sharon Greenbaum of the District of Columbia Bar.
