Ram Uppuluri is the Committee Director for the District of Columbia City Council Committee on Housing and Executive Administration chaired by Councilmember At Large Anita Bonds.
Mr. Uppuluri is a preeminent Senior Policy Advisor and Communications Consultant with more than 30 years of experience in the U.S. Government, local governments, and the nonprofit sector. He has developed innovative policy solutions, forged consensus among stakeholders, and led advocacy efforts in a variety of areas including the environment, energy, and education. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University. He as admitted to the DC Bar in December of 2005.
Mr. Uppluluri, once a dedicated congressional staff person now directs the District’s legislative committee responsible for matters relating to the development, maintenance, preservation, and regulation of housing stock, including rental housing; neighborhood revitalization, development, improvement, and stabilization; joint jurisdiction for the purpose of oversight (not legislation) with the Committee on Business and Economic Development for New Communities; urban affairs; matters related to the Executive Office of the Mayor; and matters related to seniors.
He joins us this evening to reflect upon the budget process of this year as it relates to the District of Columbia allocations for housing, revitalization, preservation, and development.
