Description: The United States Department of Labor recently promulgated new regulations at 29 C.F.R. § 795 outlining the factors that must be considered when analyzing whether to classify a worker as an employee or independent contractor. These regulations went into effect on March 11, 2024, and rescind the prior 2021 rules. Join our expert panel for this new class as they guide you through how to analyze the factors to best ensure compliance, the potential issues when applying the factors, and how to help your clients in ensuring their classifications are appropriate and legally defensible.
This class is for practitioners who have an understanding of independent contractor/employee classification issues but want to review the basics, understand the changes to the regulations, and learn tactics, strategies, and best practices so that their clients are best prepared to implement these new regulations.
