Description: In the first part of the Defending a DUI Series, learn how to navigate and defend DUI and other impaired driving related charges in D.C. Superior Court. This foundational class will offer an overview of DUI representation in the District. These are among the topics our knowledgeable and experienced faculty will cover:
- 4th Amendment & 5th Amendment implications
- Jury demandable cases & enhanced penalties
- Investigative tactics
- Additional discovery considerations
- General overview of standardized field sobriety testing
- Refusal to submit to chemical testing
- Use of police station and body camera video
- Negotiating favorable resolutions
- DMV and other collateral consequences
