Description: Effective direct examination is more than just asking the witness, “What happened next?” Join our experienced and engaging panel for part two of the Trial Primer Series. Our presenters, civil and criminal practitioners, will identify common trial issues, demonstrate various techniques, and discuss best practices to enhance your trial skills. Among the topics they will discuss are how to develop a sound and persuasive approach for taking the direct examination of fact witnesses, including discussing various techniques for doing so. They will focus primarily on organizing a direct examination, witness selection, anticipating cross-examination, considering when to redirect the witness, and capturing the jury’s attention at the outset.
Those who attend will leave with a better understanding of how to examine their witnesses more effectively on direct in the context of the trial.
While aimed at attorneys with little or no trial experience, others may find topics of interest in further developing their trial skills.
