ON DEMAND: Exempt Organizations Tax Series: Beyond the Obvious – DAFs, POFs, and SOs (+ a bonus)
Tax-exempt organizations recognized under IRC 501(c)(3) are commonly either public charities (read: 509(a)(1) or (a)(2)) or private nonoperating foundations. However, there are a number of other tax-exempt statuses available that may better suit an organization’s purposes, source of donors, and/or proposed activities. In this session, we will cover three of those under IRC 501(c)(3) that cycle through the regulatory spotlight: donor-advised funds, private operating foundations, and supporting organizations. Then, as a bonus, we will also discuss IRC 501(c)(4)s, too. Join us to discuss the requirements of each and some creative structuring options as our panelists share their expertise and experiences.
