Description: A sound cross-examination is more than just asking leading questions. During this session, the faculty will discuss how to develop a sound and persuasive approach for cross-examining fact witnesses, including discussing various techniques for doing so. It involves both strategic and tactical considerations. Those who attend part three of our Trial Primer Series will leave with a better understanding of when to cross-examine, the scope of cross-examination, how to organize a cross-examination, how and when to impeach the witness, how to anticipate and mitigate redirect, and how to capture the jury’s attention.
While aimed at attorneys with little or no trial experience, others may find topics of interest in further developing their trial skills.
