ON DEMAND: The Rise of Independent Artists and its Effect on the Music Industry
Within the past decade, the number of independent artists--artists releasing music while not signed under a major or independent label, or releasing music under their own established label--has risen exponentially in the United States--representing a $640 million industry in 2018 alone. This is a growing movement in the world of music, and we will look at its current and future effects on the industry, from major and independent labels, to publishing and distribution companies, to the artists themselves.
