Panelists will discuss the distinctions between international and domestic terrorism under U.S. Law, including discussion of the march of white supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia, the events of January 6th, and foreign terrorist acts aimed at the U.S. The Panel will focus on, among other things, why the U.S. has no domestic terrorism statute, the classification of groups as terrorist, and prosecution of terrorist acts and comparable acts of violence on US soil. Panelists will also discuss links between international terrorist groups and domestic groups advocating violence, how do we classify acts of violence by these groups, how are they prosecuted, and what is the role of civil litigation?
