The Honorable Bob Bacharach, our presenter, is a federal judge on the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has written Legal Writing: A Judge’s Perspective on the Science and Rhetoric of the Written Word, published by the ABA Press. Judge Bacharach addresses lessons for legal writing drawn from the fields of psycholinguistics, oratory, and advocacy. The following are among the specific topics he will cover:
- Providing context before detail
- Using simple diction
- Linking information
- Providing information in manageable chunks
