Fall 2025 Pro Bono Estate Planning for Low-Income DC Residents Training (2 Parts)
The DC Bar Pro Bono Center Future Planning & Probate Program will offer training for new volunteer attorneys regarding the relevant law and practical considerations for both simple estate planning for low-income DC residents. The Program will conduct the training in two in-person sessions at the DC Bar, 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm on the following dates: Nov 14. & Nov. 21.
The training will be on future (estate) planning for low to moderate asset DC residents. Attorneys will be trained on completing estate planning documents such as a healthcare power of attorney, general power of attorney, last will and testament, disposition of remains, etc.
As part of the training, attorneys will be provided with a manual and template documents for assisting clients.
PLEASE NOTE: Training participants must agree to accept one pro bono case from the DC Bar. This training requirement is waived for attorneys employed by legal services providers.
**Registrants will receive arrival instructions for the course via email about one day before the first session.** Refund Policy: Please note that we are unable to provide refunds. If you have registered for a training with the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center and are unable to attend, we do permit someone else from your organization to attend the training in your place with twenty-four hours of prior notice. Registration fees cannot be applied to future trainings.
