Description: This informative and comprehensive three-part series is designed both for the beginning estate planning attorney, and for the general practitioner interested in acquiring basic estate planning and will-drafting expertise.
During the second class in the Basic Estate Planning Series, our engaging and knowledgeable presenters will focus on the will and estate plan for a married couple with a combined taxable estate over $12.92 million. Those who attend will learn the importance of focusing on both probate and non-probate assets in estate planning, and the impact of the current state of federal estate tax law on estate planning, including the use of portability. The panel will also discuss estate taxes in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia, and the manner in which the unlimited marital deduction and the federal applicable credit amount work together to save estate taxes in the estate of the last spouse to die in states that still have an estate tax.
