A Fireside Chat and audience question-and-answer period with SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce. This discussion will touch on the SEC's current regulatory posture, enforcement activity and future direction.
Commissioner Peirce brings a closely-watched perspective to securities regulation and policy. Her views are informed by, in addition to her years of service on the Commission since 2018, her broad experience in academia, on Capitol Hill, and at the SEC. She researched and wrote about securities regulation at the Mercatus Center, was a senior counsel at the Senate Banking Committee, a counsel to Commissioner Atkins, and a staff attorney in the Division of Investment Management.
