This training provides an overview of the RENTAL Act and its impact on eviction cases filed before and after December 31, 2025. Attorneys will learn about:
- Changes to the notice and service requirements for certain eviction cases
- Changes in discretionary dismissals
- Changes in criminal activities
- Explaining the new Preliminary Protective Order Law
- Litigation strategies
Format of the Training:
- This training will be In-Person.
- Trainees will have the opportunity to ask questions.
- Following the training, trainees will contact the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center to fulfill their pro bono requirement.
PLEASE NOTE: Training participants must agree to accept one pro bono housing case within three months of this training. This training requirement is waived for attorneys employed by legal services providers.

Refund Policy: Please note that we are unable to provide refunds. If you have registered for a training with the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center and are unable to attend, we do permit someone else from your organization to attend the training in your place with twenty-four hours of prior notice. Registration fees cannot be applied to future trainings.
