Join us for a one-on-one conversation with Gurbir Grewal, the new Director of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Enforcement. Mr. Grewal will discuss the SEC's current enforcement priorities with Robert Cohen, a partner at Davis Polk & Wardwell. Mr. Grewal was appointed Director of the Division of Enforcement this summer by SEC Chair Gary Gensler. The Enforcement Division has approximately 1,300 full-time employees and, in Fiscal Year 2020, brought 405 standalone enforcement actions and obtained judgments for more than $4.6 billion in disgorgement and penalties. Before his appointment, Mr. Grewal was the Attorney General for the State of New Jersey. He previously served as Bergen County Prosecutor and as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey, where he served as Chief of the Economic Crimes Unit, and in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York.
