Description: This innovative class brings together an ethics attorney and a legal recruiter who both specialize in navigating the ethical and practical complexities of transitioning government attorneys into private practice. Designed to bridge the gap between ethical requirements and successful integration, this class offers essential insights into handling these high stakes transitions effectively.
The expert panel begins with a comprehensive overview of the ethics rules governing the shift from government roles to private practice. They then apply these principles to three realistic scenarios: a government line attorney, a Senate-confirmed attorney, and a policy-facing lawyer, each making the move to a law firm setting.
You will learn how to manage common ethical pitfalls, such as addressing equity partner compensation and resolving conflicts of interest. The panel offers actionable guidance for both government attorneys planning their next career step and law firms looking to seamlessly integrate former public servants into their ranks. This class is essential for understanding the ethical and strategic nuances that support a compliant and smooth transition.
