Class Description: President Biden’s Executive Order on the Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence marked a pivotal moment in shaping the legal landscape around AI-based systems. This initial class in our series provides you with the knowledge to effectively counsel clients on emerging regulatory frameworks governing both traditional machine learning and cutting-edge generative AI platforms.
Key developments include the establishment of the AI Safety Institute under the Department of Commerce, the Department of Homeland Security's involvement in AI oversight, and the expanding role of the NIST AI Risk Management Framework. These regulatory actions are rapidly evolving, and new guidance continues to emerge from federal agencies across diverse sectors.
